monsoon was set up in 1952 to provide workwear for the farmers. The company's original name was Tamworth Industrial Fabrics (TIF) as it was based in Tamworth Staffs and traded in industial fabric.
One particular compound called neoprene was invented during the war years as a substitute for rubber and when spread onto a nylon base cloth made an excellent waterproof fabic.
This neoprene fabric was found to be resistant to cows milk, cows urine and muck and most dairy chemicals. This made neoprene fabric an excellent choice for the farmer.
TIF changed it's name to monsoon marketing Ltd which began our 50 year association with the farming community, supplying waterproof clothing.
